<p><a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.abfat.org/eleminate-ab-fat/istock_000011150401xsmall/"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-131" src="http://www.abfat.org/articles/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/iStock_000011150401XSmall-200x300.jpg" height="300" /></a>Have you lost the weight but still have a stubborn 10 pounds or or so that just won&#8217;t let go?  This is a real problem when it is on your abdomen.  <i>Ab fat</i> will effectively ruin all of your hard work at building a great looking flat stomach or six-pack.  <u>Ab fat</u> needs to be removed if you are going to enjoy the fruits of your labor.</p>
<p>The difficulty comes in trying to get rid of that stubborn ab fat.  It is obvious that what you did to lose the vast majority of your fat is not going to work on this stubborn ab fat.</p>
<p>You are going to have to employ special techniques to take your six-pack out of its cooler or flatten that tiny disgusting bulge just above your jeans.</p>
<h4>What Doesn&#8217;t Work On Stubborn Ab Fat</h4>
<p>Doing harder workouts is not the answer to getting rid of this type of ab fat. In fact, you may just make yourself look worse by building ab muscle that pushes out your stubborn <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.health.harvard.edu/newsweek/Abdominal-fat-and-what-to-do-about-it.htm">ab fat</a> making it more noticeable.  So nix the idea of increasing your workouts, unless you are actually looking to shape your ab muscles.</p>
<p>As I said before, you can&#8217;t just do what you have been doing to lose this ab fat and you have to be careful about restricting your diet too much or you may lose muscle tissue instead of ab fat.</p>
<h4>So How Do You Lose Stubborn Ab Fat?</h4>
<p>There are several ways to go about losing stubborn ab fat and not each of these will work for everyone so you may need to experiment.  The principle for losing ab fat remains the same as with any fat loss.  You need to get your body to consume the fat for energy or you need to manually remove it.</p>
<p>Manual removal of ab fat involves plastic surgery.  There are two types of plastic surgery for getting rid of ab fat.  The most common is liposuction.  With liposuction small metal tubes are inserted under the skin and the fat is literally sucked out.  This leaves groves in the remaining fat that eventually even out.  Liposuction comes with the standard risks associated with other surgeries such as infection or negative reaction to the anesthesia.  It also takes 6 to 8 months for complete healing and it can result in lumpy or misshapen abs if it is not done correctly.</p>
<p>Another type of plastic surgery involves injecting the ab fat with chemicals that basically liquefy the fat and allow the body to absorb it and expel it.</p>
<p>Though this procedure reduces the risk of infection or negative reactions to anesthesia it can still result in lumpy or misshapen abs.  Plastic surgery should be reserved only as a last resort.</p>
<h4>Ketosis Dieting To Blast Ab Fat</h4>
<p>A great way to get rid of stubborn ab fat is to do ketosis dieting.  Ketosis occurs when the body produces ketones during the metabolism of body fat.  So the basis of ketosis dieting is to restrict the body&#8217;s access to carbohydrates thus forcing it to use its own fat stores for energy.  The body, like a quarterback, has a check down list for its source of energy which goes something like this.</p>
<ul>
<li>Carbohydrates</li>
<li>Body Fat</li>
<li>Lean Muscle tissue</li>
</ul>
<p>The order of body fat and lean muscle tissue will be reversed if there is an extreme energy deficit in the body caused by heavy exertion.  So if you can reduce your carbohydrate intake below certain levels and keep your exercise levels so that your body&#8217;s energy deficit is not too extreme, you will begin to burn body fat and this will produce measurable ketones in your blood stream.  It will also eliminate stubborn ab fat and body fat.</p>
<h3>Calorie Cycling Kills Ab Fat</h3>
<p>Another technique that is successful for many individuals is calorie cycling.  The idea behind this ab fat elimination technique is to eat a reduced calorie diet but instead of reducing your daily calorie count, you look at it on a weekly basis.  This allows you to shift or cycle calories by eating more calories on certain days and then less on others.</p>
<p>This approach has several advantages over traditional low calorie dieting.  The first being that your body never gets a chance to adjust to a low calorie routine which can result in plateauing for long periods of time even though you are not cheating on your diet.</p>
<p>Another advantage is that you do not get bored with the same repetitive dieting day in and day out.</p>
<p>Calorie cycling can also give you the opportunity to eat foods that other diets forbid.  Because of these factors, many people find it easier to stick with this type of low calorie eating plan and they are thus able to eliminate that last 5 to 10 pounds of ab fat or other stubborn body fat with relative ease.</p>
<h4>Supplements To Kill Ab Fat</h4>
<p>You have to be careful if you choose to go this route.  Many supplements become unsafe if they are abused but if they are used properly they can give you energy, kill your appetite, and provide you with a level of control over your eating to help you eliminate ab fat rapidly.  The downside to this method is the danger of heart attack if the supplements are abused and the inevitable return of your ab fat if you do not have an exit strategy.</p>
<h4>Other Specialized Stubborn Body Fat Programs</h4>
<p>There are specialized programs to help you get rid of that stubborn ab fat or any stubborn body fat that just won&#8217;t go away.  Many of these programs work quite well and are usually clever combinations of some or all of the techniques listed above.  There are fat loss blueprints that tell you moment by moment how to strip off the last bit of stubborn ab fat or body fat and get that great flat stomach or six-pack that will definitely turn heads.</p>

<p>OK, lets get down to business.  There are a lot of gimmicks, diets and tricks out there that claim to solve the question of <em>how to lose lose ab fat</em>.  Some of these devices and diets can be helpful and some are just nonsense.  The bottom line is that the answer to <em>how to lose lose ab fat </em>will not be a magic bullet that doesn&#8217;t require effort on your part.  Here are the bare bones steps you will need to take.</p>
<h3>How To Lose Ab Fat Step 1</h3>
<p><b>Lose ab fat</b> by eating foods that help reduce body fat.  This means switching form simple carbohydrates like refined sugar, corn syrup and dextrose to complex carbohydrates like oatmeal, wheat and other whole grains.  Switch from white bread to 100 percent whole grain bread. Be sure to check the labels on your food.  Eat brown rice instead of white rice and check the sauces that are on your food.  Most of these are packed with simple carbohydrates and bad fats.</p>
<p>To <span style="text-decoration: underline">lose ab fat</span> faster the rule of thumb is to avoid processed, prepackaged foods that contain sugar, corn syrup or dextrose.  Check label<a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.abfat.org/how-to-lose-ab-fat-in-5-steps/cabbage5/"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-69" src="http://www.abfat.org/articles/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/cabbage5-300x288.jpg" alt="ab fat food" width="201" height="192" /></a> sand make sure your food contains whole grains only.  Better yet, prepare your own food from whole grains, fresh fruit and fresh vegetables.</p>

<p>Next we want to reduce our calorie intake.  The best way to do this is to prepare a check-off sheet.  I make my check-off sheet by placing 9 squares down the left side of the page.  I check off the first square when I have taken my supplements.  I check off the remaining 8 squares as I drink my 8 glasses of water.</p>
<p>I also place 7 rows of 4 squares each in the middle of the page.  Each square represents 50 calories.  As I eat, I check off my calories.  This way I can tell at a glance how many calories I have left to consume and I can tell when I must stop eating.  This helps me manage my calorie count.</p>
<p>Last I have one square at the far right of my page.  This square gets checked off when I have completed my exercise for the day.</p>

<h3>How To Lose Ab Fat Step 4</h3>
<p>Eat dietary fiber.  This stuff will level out your blood sugars and clean your colon.  It is the scrub brush for your system.  You should aim for 30 grams or more a day. The more dietary fiber you get from natural sources such as beans, legumes, and vegetables the better, but don&#8217;t hesitate to supplement your fiber if you need to, in order to get 30 grams.</p>
<h3>How To Lose Ab Fat Step 5</h3>
<p>Do some form of exercise everyday for 30 minutes.  It can be as easy as a brisk walk or as heart pumping as playing racquetball.  The important thing is to do it.  This will boost your weight loss, strengthen your heart and lungs and enhance your metabolism.</p>
<p>As far as ab targeted exercise goes, only do that once the fat is off your abs and you would like some toning or if you want serious 6-packs.</p>
