Burning Ab Fat
Surprisingly burning ab fat is about eating more than exercise.
When it comes to burning ab fat, surprisingly, exercise, and especially crunches and sit-ups, are not the number one factor in getting a flat stomach or a great six pack. Instead read the steps below on how to burn ab fat and get great looking abs.
Here are the 4 steps for burning ab fat.
- Reduce your body fat percentage by selecting and eating the right ab-fat-burning foods
- Increase your metabolism through thermogenic means and supplements.
- Lower your calorie intake using a simple check list system
- Tone your ab muscles with reasonable exercises. This should be done once your ab fat is burnt away enough for your abs to show.
The best foods to eat for burning ab fat are discussed in length in Mike Geary’s book Truth About Abs. In fact this is one of the first things you should buy. Truth About Abs, in my opinion, is the best book on abs ever written. Once you have discovered the foods that you need to eat to get great abs you will be surprised at how quickly you burn ab fat away from your abdomen and flatten your stomach.
Next I recommend you do things that boost your metabolic rate that have nothing to do with eating or exercise. Things such as, drinking 64 ounces of ice-water day. This will burn calories without exercise. Taking 1000 mg of vitamin D will also cause your body to burn an extra 220 calories a day. The 7 Minute Diet is another unbelievable book on boosting your metabolism without exercise. It is a great companion piece for any weight management program or just as a stand alone program and it only takes 7 minutes a day to complete.
The Check List
I make up a check list on an index card that I use each day. As I eat I check off the calories I have eaten and when I run out of boxes I know I can’t eat anymore. I make my card so that during my weight loss days I consume only 1200 to 1400 calories. It is simple, fast and easy. I have lost 8 pounds in one week doing this. Below is the card I use. For women you probably need to cut the calories down to 1000 to 1200 unless you are really active.
Burn Ab Fat With Exercise
Exercise has the least impact on your abs of any of these steps, but it is good for you and it does burn ab fat calories. Cardio done at a pace where you have enough breath to hold a conversation is the best. You should do this for 20 minutes every day if possible. As far as sit ups and crunches go, do these as your abs become visible. These type of exercises are really for toning only and they really won’t flatten your stomach. Burning ab fat is the only real way to flatten your stomach.
